Microsoft NET Framework 4 is Microsoft's comprehensive and consistent programming model for building applications that have secure communication and the ability to model a range of business processes. It provides improvements in Common Language Runtime (CLR) and Base Class Library (BCL), new memory mapped file and numeric types, innovations in the Visual Basic and C# languages, and support for Windows 7 multi-touch, ribbon controls, taskbar extensibility features, and Surface 2.0 SDK. WCF Data Services is a component of the .NET Framework that enables you to create REST-based services and applications that use the Open Data Protocol (OData) to expose and consume data over the Web.
